author

Gill

the

promotion

The
shirts
use
the
colors
of
the
Maryland
flag
and
celebrates
the
great
city
of
Baltimore
by
emphasizing
it
as
“The
Harbor
City.”
The
shirts
were
designed
by
Dr.
Walter
(Wali)
Gill,
an
artist
and
art
teacher,
former
university
professor,
author
and
actor.
Gill
was
raised
in
several
Baltimore
City
neighborhoods,
attended
city
schools,
was
the
first
African
American
graduate
of
Baltimore
City
College
High
School,
the
country's
third
oldest
high
school,
and
received
his
Ph.D.
from
Syracuse
University.
During
his
varied
career,
he
has
taught
over
15,000
students
–
from
elementary
to
graduate
school,
worked
in
several
art
mediums,
written
three
books
and
has
won
two
best
actor
awards.
He
returned
to
Baltimore
in
1991
and
lives
in
the
first
house
that
his
parents
purchased
in
North
Baltimore.

is a

Recently
Frommer’s,
a
well
respected
travel
guide
company,
endorsed
Baltimore
as
the
“Jewel
of
the
Chesapeake”
and
a
world-class
attraction
for
summer
visitors.
Baltimore
sits
at
the
mouth

the
Chesapeake
Bay
–
the
world’s
largest
bay.
It
is
famous
for
its
Inner
Harbor
and
Harborplace,
Orioles
baseball,
Ravens
football,
ethnic
neighborhoods
and
steamed
crabs.
There
are
entertainment
attractions
downtown
and
throughout
Baltimore
that
are
fun
and
other
attractions
that
teach
valuable
lessons
on
U.S.
History.
Baltimore
is
the
